Magento 301 redirect home url to root

By August 20, 2014January 10th, 20205 Comments

It’s always good practice to keep a close eye on your Google Analytics and Webmaster accounts, monitoring site errors, duplicate content issues and possible improvements to your search engine ranking.

Magento /home url

One easy fix for a standard CE Magento install is to remove the /home URL. After setting up Magento you’ll notice that http://www.yoursite.com/home also shows your homepage, so having that indexed as well as your homepage is likely to weaken your SEO standing.

The best solution is to permanently redirect it to your real homepage.
