Leigh-on-Sea sees lots of snow

By February 15, 2012April 10th, 2015No Comments

Leigh-on-Sea’s historical Old Leigh district, is well known for its picturesque views of old town houses, cockle boats and the estuary. It’s a great place for a day visit, especially given its close proximity to London. Old Leigh pubs such as the Peter Boat & Ye Olde Smack (both named after types of fishing boat) are often heaving on a nice summer’s day.

However, Leigh-on-Sea in February 2012 was a much quieter place. The streets on the 5th had very little activity as the town was completely encased with snow and the estuary frozen over in places.

Here are a few of the images taken on the very cold day, of Old Leigh, Essex.
